Puncture & Paint was born from my need to challenge conventional beauty and create a space where gothic self‑expression is not only accepted, but celebrated. I’ve always been drawn to darker aesthetics, dramatic makeup, and the kind of piercing artistry that feels like armour rather than decoration — and I wanted a studio that reflected that.
In early 2026, everything changed. I was diagnosed with cancer, and at the same time I was caring for my child on palliative care. My life didn’t fit neatly into the rigid structure of traditional beauty roles or standard salon hours. I needed something flexible, something that worked around my reality, not against it.
Friends who were facing similar challenges encouraged me to stop trying to squeeze myself into an industry mold that was never made for me. They reminded me that my style, my circumstances, and my vision were unique — and that maybe the beauty world needed a space built exactly for people like us.
So I created one.
Puncture & Paint became my way of reclaiming control, creativity, and identity. A woman‑owned studio shaped by resilience, individuality, and a refusal to conform.
